The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority has introduced a simulator testing system to enhance the driver's licence testing regime, testing prospective applicants in a virtual environment and determining their responsiveness to road-related scenarios.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Monday, October 12, the DVLA Chief Executive Officer, Julius Neequaye Kotey, said the system will serve a big purpose in today's driving ecosystem, where vehicles are being modernised and road activities keep increasing.
He explained that the simulator will present applicants with various road situations in a virtual setting, allowing the Authority to assess their reactions and decision-making before they are licensed to drive on actual roads.
The introduction forms part of the Authority's broader reforms aimed at improving road safety, modernising the licensing process, and ensuring that drivers are adequately prepared for real-world driving conditions.
