Charlotte Osei, accusers face C.J. at 1pm

Information available to Graphic Online indicates the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Charlotte Osei, and her two deputies, Sulley Amadu and Mrs Georgina Opoku-Amankwaa are to appear before the Chief Justice at 1pm today.

Their appearance before Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, according to Graphic Online court correspondent Emmanuel Ebo Hawkson, is based on a petition forwarded to her by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Also to appear before the Chief Justice in connection with the case is Lawyer Maxwell Opoku-Agyemang, who first filed a petition on behalf of unnamed staff of the EC to remove Madam Charlotte Osei from office. He is to appear with his clients.

It is unclear yet if a prima facie case has been established against the EC Commissioners, with an implication for them to step down from office pending completion of investigations.

All the parties and their lawyers, Graphic Online understands, were served by Thursday last week.
