CDH Holdings donates house to orphanage

Front view of the houseCDH Financial Holdings Ltd, a discount house, has handed over a multi-purpose residential facility to the Village of Hope, an orphanage at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.
The facility, valued at GH¢350,000, is intended to ease the accommodation challenges of the orphanage.

The building consists of bedrooms, family lounge, study area, dining area and a kitchen. It will accommodate 24 students, their parents and other care-givers.

At the inaugural ceremony at Gomoa Fetteh on Saturday, Mr Martin Asamoah, the Executive Director of CDH Commodities Ltd, explained that the company invested in the project because it believed in human development as it ensured socio-economic development.

He noted that although the orphanage was performing a significant social function, it lacked the needed support and urged other institutions to emulate his company’s example.

Mr Fred Asare, Managing Director of the orphanage, thanked the CDH and said the managers of the home had relied on the benevolence of other charitable institutions to cater for the over 214 children at the orphanage.

He said many needy persons were on the waiting list of the orphanage and, with the addition of the new facility, the children would increase to about 250.

Mr Asare called on other corporate organisations and benevolent individuals to assist the home to provide quality life for the needy.
