BHOBU 87/89 group shows compassion to former headmaster

The 1987/89 year group of the Bishop Herman Old Boys Union (BHOBU) has presented assorted items and an undisclosed cash amount to their former Headmaster, Monsignor Joachim Boumas Kwabena Eleeza. 

The group made the donation when they paid a courtesy call on him at his residence at Jasikan in the Volta Region. Monsg. J.B. Eleeza, who was head from 1976 to 1992, was the first black Headmaster of the Bishop Herman College (BIHECO). 

The old boys, some of whom are now  lawyers, engineers, accountants, tutors, administrators, bankers, among other professionals, were filled with joy to have seen their beloved headmaster. They recounted some eventful moments of their days in school. The group also had lunch with Monsignor Eleeza.

Appreciation

Monsignor Eleeza, now 82, thanked members of the group for their show of love and the sacrifice they have made. “To have travelled from far and near to see me and to present these items to me shows you have not forgotten about people who have contributed to the success story of your lives,” he said. The 82-year-old priest prayed for God’s blessing and protection for the members of the group and encouraged them to put God first in all their endeavours.

In a short speech, the leader of the group, Mr Samuel Opoku, described their visit as a homecoming and expressed the group’s appreciation to Monsignor Eleeza for contributing to make them great people. He said they would forever remain indebted to him,  adding that it was their prayer that God would grant him long life.
