According to them, the pest attacks had resulted in low yields from their farms.
A spokesperson for the farmers, Madam Comfort Koomson, said members of the association were worried that the situation could worsen and eventually destroy the livelihoods of more than 60 farmers.
She indicated that many of the members were small holder farmers who depended on farming as their livelihood.
Madam Koomson also said the association had contacted the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) office in the municipality to look at the farms but officials were yet to visit the farms.
She called on MoFA, as a matter of urgency, to visit the affected farms and help the farmers to solve the problem.
She commended the Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC) Fund for supporting the association with its advocacy.
