Conference of heads of Adentan basic school inaugurated.
She said the Adentan COHBS was collaborating with the Adentan education office to train every head teacher in basic computer skills to enable beneficiaries to make proper use of the computers donated to head teachers.
In her address, the National President of COHBS, Mrs Naa Addoley Boye-Quaye, said the head teacher was very critical in the provision of high quality academic performance.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Adentan, Mrs Nubyl Kakra Vanlare, also noted that head teachers reflected events and situations unfolding in the schools.
She said “it is you that the teachers and pupils would look up to before work starts on a daily basis”.
Mrs Vanlare pointed out that the head teacher had the responsibility to sacrifice and have passion for the school child so that when they make it to the top of the academic ladder, they would make laudable reference to the solid foundation they had received.
The Municipal Education Director, Mrs Rosemond Keteku, said as leaders, it was important that head teachers were always a step ahead of those they lead.
“As heads, you may not prescribe the solution exactly to a problem, but you may provide guidance as to the many options available for the teacher to decide”.
She encouraged head teachers to use the handbook designed for them and acquaint themselves of the information as the handbook should reflect what happens in the schools in most cases.
Inaugurating and inducting the members into office, Mr Moses Dapo, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary of COHBS, urged them to devote themselves to the course of duty and wished them well in their new roles.
