All is set for the 2026 edition of the Graduate Exhibition and Fashion Show, being organised by the Textile and Fashion section of the Department of Industrial Art at the College of Art and Built Environment, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Slated for August 7, 2026, the event will be held at the Great Hall of KNUST in Kumasi. This year's edition is themed "Becoming: From Excellence to Eminence."
The Vice Chancellor of KNUST, during the launch in Kumasi on Friday, August 24, 2026, commended the department for fulfilling its strategic objective of producing industry-ready graduates.
In a speech read on her behalf by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor Samuel Asare-Nkansah, she said the department, since its establishment nine years ago, continues to transform talents to expand the frontiers of Ghana and beyond.
She charged students to learn, innovate, and uphold excellence, adding that they had been opened to a world of full possibilities to actively develop their creativity, resilience, and impact.
The launch brought together industry players, students of KNUST, and some students from selected senior high schools in Kumasi.
The 2026 graduating class displayed some of their self-made textile fabrics, while others wore some during a runway session, to the admiration of all gathered.
The Dean of the Faculty of Art, Professor kąrî'kạchä seid'ou, said: "The showcase is a direct reflection of the resilience and dedication of both our students and our staff. You have learned to manipulate material, interrogate texture, honour our rich cultural heritage, and project the future of global design."
The Head of the Department of Industrial Art, Professor Samuel Nortey, said the night event had been well orchestrated and urged the university community and the general public to attend the show.
