Hannah is one of the best-loved success stories on how a woman broke out of barrenness. Hannah is a type of a barren minister or church. You can use the keys she used to break out of barrenness in your ministry.
The first key that she used was fervent prayer. "Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken" (1 Samuel 1:13). Hannah's tearful emotional prayer for a child yielded fantastic results.
Hannah was in serious trouble. She desperately needed a break through. She didn't just doodle and dawdle. "To doodle and dawdle" means "to hang around, loiter, to waste time and to make wavy impressions".
She was dead serious about what she wanted from God. Dear pastor, fervent prayer will make you give birth to a new dimension in ministry.
Jacob's all-night wrestling prayer also yielded tremendous results. And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day (Genesis 32:24). Jacob was blessed and so was his seed. Several thousand years have gone by, but the fruit of this fervent prayer is evident for all to see. Israel still stands as a nation truly favoured by God.
