MzVee, Cina Soul to light up +233 for Christmas
The roll call of female performers at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill in Accra has been vast and varied over the years and two smart young singers –MzVee and Cina Soul - will help patrons dive into the Christmas mood on Friday, December 23 at the venue.
The ladies have displayed their range of talents at several live shows and recordings since the start of their careers and continue to express themselves as relevant to music of the moment.
Both explore love, life and relationships in their songs and the upcoming programme will be another chance for them to win over more fans and wish them a happy Christmas.
MzVee and Cina Soul are actually the special guests at the show dubbed ‘Bronya Experience With the Western Showboys’ headlined by Kofi Kinaata and Gyedu Blay Ambolley.
The two men are extremely familiar characters on the music scene in this country. The thing they have in common apart from both being singers, rappers, songwriters and composers is that they come from the Western Region, a place that has a significant influence on their musical output.
Listening to Kinaata’s lyrics is like eavesdropping on a boys-boys conversation on Beach Road in Takoradi. The words and phrases have a flow and sparkle of their own which Kinaata has cleverly worked into his songs. One knows right away where the young man comes from immediately he takes off on a piece.
Just check out his tracks like Made In Taadi, Susuka, Confession, Time No Dey, Malafaka, Things Fall Apart, The Whole Show, Thy Grace (Parts I & II), Have Mercy, Wo Pre and Everyday.
Ambolley describes his lyrical style as Simigwa Rap and it has been in rotation on the radio airwaves for many years. He brings his own bounce to what he does and patrons at the ‘Bronya Experience With the Western Showboys’ at +233 on December 23 will have a lot to amuse them and also dance to.
