While it does make some difference when using headphones, a major difference will be felt when playing music solely through an iPhone speaker.
Plenty of people left comments underneath saying they had noticed a difference.

The tweet has now been shared more than 170,000 times.
According to Apple, Late Night works because it actually turns down loud sounds, but raises quieter ones making the music easier to hear in loud environments.

It states: ‘The Late Night setting compresses the dynamic range of the audio output, reducing the volume of loud passages and increasing the volume of quiet passages.

‘You might want to use this setting when listening to music on an airplane or in some other noisy environment.’

The setting will apply to all audio output, including music played through video.
