The school had a total of 91 points as against 75 the Victory Presbyterian Church School got to win the contest.

The event was sponsored by Malta Guinness, Peak Biscuits and Print Innovations. Boxes of peak biscuits, crates of malta guinness and boxes of Bic pens from the sponsors were given to the two schools.

The contestants were tested on their knowledge on cancer, disability and their community / municipality. This was to make the children more civic minded and know what is going on around them.

The stakes were very high at each round as the two schools did their best to answer the questions that were posed to them by the quiz mistress, Dr Abena Tetteh.

The immediate past president of the Adentan Mountain View Lions Club, Lion Yaw Asante, emphasised the need for more children to engage themselves in the competition to gain more knowledge about childhood cancer and its effect.

“We hope that as the years go by, more schools will take part in the competition. With the knowledge they gain when participating, a child could observe the symptoms of cancer at the early stage before it damages any part of the body,” he said.

The quiz mistress congratulated the two schools on displaying their knowledge on cancer and disabilities.
“With the kind of knowledge they have shown in the competition, I have no doubt the future is going to be brighter,”Dr Tetteh noted.
