The Future Generation Ministry, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has held a programme to educate parents on how to unearth talents in children and also develop them.
The maiden programme, dubbed ‘’Kids Day Out’’ which was attended by both parents and children from basic schools in the community, was held at the Grace Baptist Church, Pokuase in the Ga West Municipality.
The NGO is open to children under 18 years and is aimed at discovering their hidden talents in music, choreography, poetry and drama.
The Chairman of the NGO, Mr Samuel Okan Adjetey in his speech said talents are gifts from God, therefore, the word of God is used to teach and train the children to develop identified talents.
He advised parents to acknowledge their children’s talents and pay attention to their development.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Future Generation Ministry, Mrs Anita Adjetey, urged parents to support the ministry in order to develop the abilities of children, adding, ‘talents lead to creativity and a well groomed one leads to success’.
Mrs Adjetey observed that most parents tend to neglect the capabilities of their children, thereby leaving them with little or no confidence.
She, therefore, asked parents to assist their children to develop their talents when they discover them.
