One Million Pounds, sponsored by Airtel, continued showing yesterday, Friday, April 1 and will again come off at the National Theatre today, April 2.

The play tells the story of what happens when four talented Ghanaians embark on a journey of a lifetime to participate in the maiden edition of a music reality show being held in UK that may be their key to success.

However, the unity of the group, Jama, is threatened just when they are about to make history and their participation in the reality show becomes shrouded in doubt. The play explores themes such as unity, greed, success, and love.

Even as the group gets ready for the finale of the competition, there are malicious attempts to eliminate them from the competition altogether.

The manager of the group, Nii, accepts bribe from some of the organisers of the event in order to eliminate the group from the competition.

Even as Kafui, the leader of the group, tries to keep the group together, he has to deal with the advances of his ex-girlfriend, Veronica, who tries to come between him and his current girlfriend, Olive, also a member of the group.

Typical of most Uncle Ebo Whyte’s plays, the actors put up a good show by interpreting their characters well and set design, among others things were on point.

Other plays from the stables of Roverman Productions include Games Men Play, What’s My Name, Apartment N1, The Last Flight.
