Lisa Awuku of House of Gold fame all grown up

Lisa Awuku, the child actress who played the role of June in the 2013 movie House Of Gold is all grown up now, developing into a beautiful young woman in no time.

Lisa turned 21 on Tuesday, September 21 and she celebrated the day, sharing some lovely photos of herself. “Happy birthday to moi (me) ….wishing me greater heights,” she wrote on Instagram.

While some young actors become famous early in life, decide to stick with showbusiness, others also quit to pursue different interests. For Lisa, the former is her preference because acting is her greatest passion.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Lisa said she has always wanted to act. “Acting is my passion and I don’t see myself doing anything else, I love acting to bits and I am sure I will do it for a very long time to come.”

Even as she pursues her passion, the former student of Aburi Girls’ Senior High School has found time to further her education and is currently in her final year at the University Of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), studying Accounting & Finance.

Lisa Awuku started acting early

Lisa started acting at a very tender age on stage in her primary school days before she joined the movie industry in 2010. She first acted in Enemy Within by Venus Films but her second movie Losing You was the first to be released.

She subsequently appeared in other productions including the acclaimed 2015 war drama Beasts of No Nation as well as House of Gold (2013) and Ghana Must Go (2016) produced by Yvonne Nelson and Yvonne Okoro respectively.

The rest of her movie credits include 3Some, The Pledge, Nkuli, Alvina and Wannabe.

Lisa has secured several nominations in her young career and in 2013, she was nominated for ZAFAA Awards for Best Child Performance for her role in House Of Gold.

Lisa Awuku was born on September 21, 2000, at Asylum Down in Accra to Mr. Perfect Awuku Addo and Mrs. Georgina Awuku Addo.

The last born of five siblings, she hails from Obo Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana but she has lived mostly in Accra.

She had her basic school education at the St.Paul’s Lutheran School in Accra and completed in 2015. She later gained admission into Aburi Girls’ Senior High School where she read Business and completed in 2018.

Beyond her love for acting, Lisa is a family-oriented person and she says she will go to every extent for her family. This is partly because the people who inspire her the most are her family.

Also the kitchen is the best hideout for Lisa if she is not studying. She also loves to cook and is always in the kitchen trying out new recipes from YouTube.
