NACOC investigates 320kg meth seizure in charcoal shipment to Australia
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has commenced investigations into the interception of approximately 320 kilogrammes of methamphetamine concealed in a consignment of charcoal shipped from Ghana to Australia.
In a statement issued on June 19, NACOC said it had taken note of reports by the Australian Federal Police regarding the seizure and is working closely with internal security agencies and foreign partners to identify, trace, and apprehend all individuals connected to the trafficking operation.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and ensuring that Ghana's territory and commercial channels are not exploited by transnational drug trafficking networks.
Investigations are ongoing.
