Yvonne Okoro, R2Bees, Chris Attoh and co for Nigeria Entertainment Awards

Award winning actresses, Yvonne Okoro and Nadia Buari have received nominations in the Pan African Actress category at the upcoming Nigeria Entertainment Awards for their roles in The Contract and Single and Married respectively.

The nominees for the 2013 edition of the annual entertainment awards include Ghana’s Chris Attoh (Single and Married), Majid Michel (The Grooms Bride) and John Dumelo (Letters to my Mother). They were nominated alongside Frank Arthus, Thomas Gumede and David Mapane in the Pan African Actor category.

Other nominees from Ghana are Sakordie, Efya and R2Bees in the Western African Artist/Group of the Year; while organisers of upcoming Ghana meets Naija concert, Empire Entertainment received a slot in the Best Entertainment Promoter category.

The nominees were announced at the Euphoria Night Club, Lagos, Nigeria; with celebrity guests in attendance including Ice Prince, Juliet Ibrahim, K9, Ramsey Nouah, DJ Spinall, Uti Nwachukwu, Funny Bone, KCee and Kay Switch.

Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji and Uche Jombo also received nominations for Best Lead Actress, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and Vector for Best Rap Act and for Best Comedian Basketmouth, Bovi and Senator were also nominated.

Voting begins online on June 28. Fans are encouraged to support their favorite actors and actresses, comedians and musicians by voting and encouraging others to vote as well.

The 2013 NEA Awards is scheduled to take place on Sunday 1st September in New York City.
