Rewind: Selly in the Big Brother Africa house
On Sunday July 14, the eviction axe fell heavily on Ghana’s female representative at the on-going 8th edition of the Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality show, Selorm Galley known as Selly, as she was booted out of the series because of her inability to obtain enough public votes to keep her in the house.

Selly has said on many platforms that, she’s not happy about her eviction and it’s alright to empathize with her, after all, she wasn’t nominated for eviction by her fellow housemates, she was just unlucky to have been swapped by Head of House Oneal. She obtained only one country vote – Ghana. This meant that, no other country saved her.
She spent 50 days in the show which earned her friends as well as enemies. What I mean by enemies is that certain things she did while in the house may have not been kindly received by some viewers and her name is currently on the lips of many people in a negative vein.
Selly’s stay in the house was very dramatic and eventful. Let me recap three moments of Selly’s 50 days stay in the reality show.
Selly’s first kiss in The Chase!
Having been selected for the Big Brother Africa reality show, the housemates were expected to develop a strategy. No matter how deadly or useful the strategy is, the onus lies with the housemates to make sure it works in their favour.
Over the past seven years, viewers have seen various strategies. Most of the times, these strategies do not work at all or they end up not going in the favour of the housemates who devised them.
For example, when a female housemate goes in there with a mindset of flirting with virtually every guy in the house, it becomes exciting to the viewers, after all they will be having their money’s worth but for the other females in the house, it is likely to be a turn-off.
What this means is that, you will always be up for eviction because liking every guy that other female housemates likes becomes a problem, so they are likely to team up against you and always put you on eviction. Getting rid of you becomes the only option.

Perhaps Selly’s strategy was to get noticed and make an impression in the house. Barely a day in the house, the show recorded its first kiss and it was from Selly.
This is how the Big Brother Africa website reported it, “Ghana’s Selly reaching out to Angolan’s Biguesas for a passionate kiss much to the amusement and applause of her fellow housemates”
It was one act which announced Selly to her fellow housemates but as to whether it went to her favour is something I can’t say.
Intimacy with Nando
Saturday June 22 will be a day that Selly may not forget quickly. On the said day, which was the 27th day in the Big Brother house, an uncut video of Selly and Nando was uploaded on the Big Brother website and captioned “Selly and Nando get intimate under the covers.”
The video shows the Ghanaian female rep and the Tanzanian Nando under the sheets in an activity that appeared as if they were having sex. I have seen the video many times and I’m convinced the two might have had sex.
In solidarity, her mother, Madam Benedicta Galley waded into the controversy when she was called to speak on the alleged bonking of her daughter. She denied that her daughter had sex with Nando. Since arriving back home, Selly has also come out to deny the sex charge, saying they only “made out” like touching, cuddling and fondling each other under the sheets.
Even though some viewers believe the two really bonked, the one who was involved has said that they didn’t. Therefore we take it as the truth.
Claim of infection
In a conversation with Ethiopian’s Bimp, Nando revealed how he got infected with Chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease after visiting Selly’s honey pot. This was after Selly and Nando had been seen avoiding each other because of what transpired between them.
Nando’s confession meant that Selly lied when she said she never had sex with Nando. Come to think about it, why will Nando say he has had something to do with Selly if truly they only “made out”? It’s obvious one of them has not been telling the truth.
This is how the BBA website reported it “The Tanzanian lad and the Ghanaian dame had strong feelings for each other that it didn’t even take them a day to open the sexual gates and enjoyed each other’s package through the deed.
Despite the fact that he enjoyed Selly’s goodies, Nando made it crystal clear that he wasn’t ready for a serious relationship but just wanted to satisfy the hungry Nando in him.”
Well … above are three moments that I found as the most dramatic of Selly’s stay in the Big Brother house. Whether they were desirable or not, as they say at the end of traditional storytelling sessions, “take them and interprete as you wish”.
