Rekha Bhardwaj unveils her artistic works

Indian artist Rekha Bhardwaj has opened a week-long exhibition of her works at the Nubuke Foundation in Accra.

The exhibition which ends on November 15, is the budding artist’s maiden solo exposure event to announce herself and to introduce her works to the public.
Rekha Bhardwaj told journalists in an interview: “This is my first solo exhibition to introduce myself and to find out how people will feel about my paintings.

I have close to 35 collections that I have been working on over the last five months and this event is basically to outdoor them.”
The exhibition features 35 inspirational and exquisite paintings on various themes and concepts drawn from everyday situations.
Rekha’s acrylic paintings are reflections of everyday situations put on paper and that according to her was a means of “getting people inspired and motivated after looking at my works”.

She stressed: “Everything inspires me; from the abstracts of happiness, sadness as well as everyday situations which I put them on paper.”
Rekha, who is currently based in the country, plans to commercialise her works but her first concern is to improve on her works as she builds on her collections.
“I have plans to take on painting as a business in the long term but now my focus is to improve my works, especially with acrylic painting which is relatively a new area for me.”
