While most people in the auditorium may never have heard about her or even seen her before, it was quite clear from her first introduction on stage that this was one person with a lot of potential.

There was quite an initial excitement among the audience over her personal endowments in  terms of body figure but it was her subsequent performances as a live event hostess and television personality over the past one year that have placed her firmly on the celebrity landscape.

She has emerged as one of the most talented and versatile media personalities in Ghana. But who is the lady behind all the headlines?

Peace Hyde was born and raised in the UK. After her first degree  in psychology, she practiced as a child psychologist for one of the big charities in the UK.

Her job involved helping children from abusive homes to cope with the mental trauma they experienced and help in providing stability for parents who struggle to cope with their responsibilities due to financial constraints or substance abuse.

She had a special focus on rehabilitation of broken homes. Along the way, she decided the trauma of homes she witnessed was beginning to have a negative impact on her outlook on life.

“I witnessed so many broken people who were desperately trying to deal with their many vices. Children were being physically and mentally abused by parents who were failing to live up to their responsibilities. Experiencing this at a very young age myself, meant I got to a point where I felt the nature of the role was beginning to have a negative impact on me. I had to leave.”

It was a difficult decision for Peace. She had a deep love for the people she worked with but she had to make the difficult decision to leave in order to keep her positive spirit and continue to help young people but in a different capacity.

She subsequently went on to study and qualify as a teacher in the sciences - chemistry, biology and physics, educating young minds in the high school age group.

Peace Hyde rose through the ranks of senior management in the education sector and after some years as an Education Specialist and after consideration, she felt it was time to move back to her motherland to pursue a different dream.

“I always had a burning desire to come home. I was blessed with an upbringing that was heavily laced with our traditional Ghanaian culture, which made the decision to return home for good only natural for me."

Peace Hyde made the bold decision like many returnees, to follow her heart and return home and the rest, as they say, is history.

In only a year, Peace has earned quite a presence on the Ghana entertainment scene. From her introduction on stage at the Ghana Movie Awards, she has gone on to MC the stages of almost every major event in Ghana.

She was the host of the first- ever Hennessy Artistry tour in Ghana which brought international stars like Mafikizolo from South Africa, Tuface and Wizkid from Nigeria to Ghana.

She hosted the Ciroc launch party, musician Edem’s  Books and Rhymes album launch and Pulse VIP night  which introduced the newest entertainment and lifestyle website to the Ghanaian market.

Peace Hyde has also been the name to call for corporate launches with hosting gigs like Kirusa Instavoice launch and Intarget mobile aggregation launch in partnership with MTN among many under her belt.

Peace's versatility extends to the television screen as she was handpicked to be the host of the biggest talent search in Ghana, MTN Hitmaker season 3 alongside the very accomplished host and CEO of Starr FM, Bola Ray.

Peace Hyde is also the host of the EFGH television show which profiles the crème de la crème of Ghana’s celebrities in a fun, engaging and entertaining magazine show.

Peace also currently hosts the Friday Night Live show on GH One, The hard hitting lifestyle show focuses on discussing social topics that deal with everything  life.

In addition to her many engagements, she is also the writer of the popular inspirational blog, a Piece Of Peace which focuses on motivational life messages to encourage people.

Peace Hyde has certainly proved since her arrival onto the Ghanaian entertainment scene has been worth her while. The beauty with brains personality has just been unveiled as the official brand ambassador for Mara Mentor, a project of the Mara Foundation, a social enterprise that encourages and supports young entrepreneurs in Africa.

Mara Mentor, which is deployed on web and mobile platforms, links upstart African entrepreneurs with successful and established African business leaders for advice and mentorship, and is designed to enable entrepreneurs to build their networks and access the guidance that they need at the early stages of their business development.

Peace Hyde has certainly made 2014 'the year of Peace' and made many Ghanaians proud. When asked what the secret of her success has been, the young TV presenter and actress smiled and humbly said: "I give all the thanks and praise to God. I stepped out in faith and he has guided me this far. As long as I put him first in my life, I believe all things are possible".
