Ladies man, DJ Smokey
DJ Smokey is undoubtedly one of the fastest rising Disc Jockeys in Ghana.

The 23-year- old Level 400 student of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) known in real life as Nicholas Mintah is certainly carving a niche for himself with his mastery of the turntables.
In a chat with Showbiz, DJ Smokey revealed how it all started for him. “I started as a musician and an emcee during my high school days. Along the line, I developed the love for Djing so I started playing music at family gatherings.
I moved on to play gigs when I gained admission to read Management at the university. I eventually became the official DJ during the SRC Week celebrations”, he said.
With time, DJ Smokey also became the sit-in host for the radio show, Campus on Hitz on Hitz FM.
Talking about life on the campus of GIMPA, DJ Smokey said “People think GIMPA is for oldies so when I tell them I attend GIMPA, a lot of my fans mostly the females are surprised because they see my school as a very serious place with very little room for entertainment.
I am currently working on a new mix-tape titled Ladies Crush. This is because a lot of my fans are females and they say I am their favourite so am dedicating this mix-tape to them. There are lot of songs that the ladies will love when released,” he added.
DJ Smokey has been nominated twice for Most Influential Student DJ at the prestigious Ghana Tertiary Awards and was one of the finalists at YFM Hottest Campus DJ in 2014.
