KofiKwame pushes on

It is no news when musical acts break up but it is still worth telling when something new blossoms out of a collapsing relationship.

The current duo called KofiKwame, comprising Kofi Kwakye and Kwame Toka, emerged from the DSTN trio which started to stumble late last year.

Before then, DSTN had put out an album recorded by Appietus which contained the stimulating track titled Sunday.

Kwakye and Kwame Toka resolved to stick together despite the odds, and with encouragement from family, friends and fans, they have released a single on the Distinction Entertainment label featuring Bisa Kdei   titled Obirefreme.

A video based on the song is also out and getting ample exposure on some of the television networks.

“We nearly decided to give it all up because everything seemed so gloomy,” say KofiKwame.

“We, however, felt abandoning music was like giving up on life because music means so much to us. We are back on track and things are steadily falling in place.”

Obirefreme is a medium-paced track. Its laid-back vocal approach about romantic love makes it a relaxing piece to listen to.

KofiKwame are back in the studio doing new stuff. They just came under a new management and are looking forward to gigs between now and the Yuletide.

“We have so much to offer music lovers,” say the duo. “It is like we have been born again with renewed wings and there is no limit to how high we can fly.”
