For the man who won the admiration of many for his tongue twisting style of rap, despite being “dead” for some years now, he is still the best in the rap game and doesn’t believe he has any competition.

“The records are there for everyone to verify. I took rap music to the next level eventhough there were some seniors doing it before I came. My style was different and I’m happy the younger ones who came after me took up the challenge and are reaping the benefits today,” Quata said in an interview with Showbiz last week.

According to Quata, real name, Jacob Kwame Etroo, who has been running his Audio Farm recording studios in Accra, after taking the break, he is back to take his rightful place and he is sure to get the necessary attention after what he described as “ Quata’s comeback campaign”.

The former student of Aggrey Memorial School is not ignorant of the growing competition among the new crop of young artistes who are obviously flying the flag of Ghana high on the international platform but Quata, who has once upon a time enoyed such fame said he is not discouraged.

“I know my worth as an artiste. Yes, things may have not worked out well in my career leading to my absence for this long time but that doesn’t mean that I have lost my skills. I just need another opportunity to show my admirers and crirics that I  still got my swag on,” he  stated.

To prove his readiness for the new task ahead, the Wonie artiste has released four new songs-Wind And Glow, Ohia, One Life To Live and Shooting Star off his upcoming album scheduled for release later this month.

Quata, who has worked with the likes of Kojo Antwi, Mzbel, KK Fosu, Tinny, George Jarah among others expressed his opinion on what he described as “disposable lyrics” and called on younger artistes to learn the “ art of  rap fused with rich African proverbs”.

A native of Abura Aseebu, Quata first made appearance on the music scene with his debut Wonie album produced by Hammer of the Last Two. He later followed it up with Concert and Independence albums under the labels of Dolphin Production and Nature Clue Entertainment respectively.

Currenyly, he is promoting Ohia, a highlife song and Go Slow, an Afro Pop tune.
