According to Korkor Amarteifio, administrator of the fund, all sorts of projects relating to the arts are welcome. She, however, pointed out that preference would be given to applications that involve ingenuous ideas and those that deal with  traditional projects infused with contemporary concepts.

The application forms, she noted, can be obtained freely on www.gdcfonline.org stressing that forms must be filled and mailed to the address provided on the website. She added that  deadline for submission of applications is Wednesday May 15, 2013.

Amarteifio, who is also the co-director for the Institute for Music and Development, revealed that activities  provide opportunities for community participation would equally be considered for support.

The GDCF has disbursed a total of GHc 677,613.43 to various educational institutions, groups, artistes, filmmakers and authors who have successfully completed projects that have enhanced the development of the arts in Ghana since 2007.

In the last quarter of last year, the GDCF released a total of GHc 133,641.00 for seven artistes, music/theatre groups, art galleries and other organisations in the creative sector to engage in various projects.

Objectives of the GDCF, which was established in 2007, include the strengthening of inter- cultural relationships, mutual understanding and the promotion of democratic values through intercultural expressions and interactions.
