Cooking the garden way at Aburi

When an episode of the Ghana Cooks competition was held at the Aburi Gardens in the Eastern Region last Saturday, the show producers as well as contestants went the extra mile to demonstrate how creative they could be in that environment.

All aware that the taste of food would not change whether cooked on a state-of–the-art solar-powered stove or on some quickly arranged stones, contestants were made to improvise cooking on a wheelbarrow using garden forks and spades.

Using those implements initially seemed odd to the contestants but they soon got the hang of things and went ahead to make a variety of delicious meals.

“It was a lot of fun improvising in the garden but still ensuring that everything turns out the way they should,” one of the contestants said to The Mirror.

Ghana Cooks shows on GTV on Sundays at 6.00pm.  Winner of the 13-week cooking competition will earn GH¢10,000 as well as GH¢ 5,000 worth of cooking appliances and a three-month internship at a five-star hotel.
