Celestine Donkor and team to tour USA and UK
Gospel musician Celestine Donkor and her team are planning a tour in the USA and UK in December this year and early January next year.
The tour will see the 2020 VGMA Best Female Vocal Performance winner play in some parts of the USA, including New York, Maryland, Ohio and New Jersey.
In the UK, Celestine Donkor and her team’s train will also be at places such as Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham and Liverpool.
The tour is under the auspices of Dynamics Unlimited (managers of Celestine Donkor) and Emascotect Music Promotions in New York City.
Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Celestine Donkor said the tour is aimed at building a strong bond with her fans who’ve lost the opportunity to enjoy her live performances because of their locations.
“I will be holding a concert in all these places. I want to be able to get closer to my fans outside the country and interact with them. Apart from the USA and the UK, I plan touring other countries and probably have a collaboration with gospel musicians in those countries.
“I will be moving with my team and performing my well-known songs. Tours give an artiste more mileage and I hope that the patronage of my music will positively increase,” she stated.
Known for songs like "Turning Around", "Bigger", "Okronkronhene", "Manim Nguase" and "Boobobo", Celestine has been one of the known faces on the Ghanaian gospel music scene.
The award-winning musician has collaborated with gospel musicians Joe Mettle, Joyce Blessing, Ceccy Twum and Philipa Baafi.
She is well known for songs such as Agbebolo, Only You, Good To Me, Bigger and Testimony.
In 2020, Celestine Donkor broke the jinx when she won Best Female Vocal Performance and Gospel Song of the Year awards with her song, Agbebolo (Bread of Life) at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards after 10 years of doing music.
