The eight-track collection will be launched on Sunday, September 10, at the Dunwell Methodist Church, at Santa Maria in Accra. To Sir Gabby, it is only God’s grace that has brought him this far and the album launch will be a platform for all to appreciate and adore God for his abundant kindness.

“We are human so we sometimes forget where we have come from to reach our present levels. Whatever we have attained in life is by God’s favour ,” says Sir Gabby who has a degree in Graphics from the University of Education, Winneba.

Mebre Meho Ase is his third album after Aseda (2008) and Ebenezer (2014). The songs in the collection are mostly in the Highlife vein and the arrangements are well-executed to pull listeners to dance.

Sir Gabby describes himself as born into the Methodist Church and it reflects in his inclusion of some well-known Methodist hymns on the album. He does a slow take on I Will Sing The Wondrous Story (MHB 380) and uses it to showcase his singing ability.

His renditions of Will Your Anchor Hold (HMB 634) and Head of the Church Triumphant (MHB 411) are upbeat and inspiring. Sir Gabby directs the singing group at Dunwell Methodist Church where he worships and the inclusion of the hymns portray his strong attachment to the church. Other tracks on the album are Nkunimdifoo, Ebenezer, Twere No and Nsanku.

Apart from Sir Gabby on lead vocals, there are charming contributions from other singers like Obaaba Christy, Shee, Francis Amo, Esther Goodwill and Ruth Agyei.

High-profile instrumentalists on the project include Akablay and Dominic Quachie (guitar), Dan Grahl (electric bass), Francis Osei (drums) and Osei Tutu (trumpet).

Guest acts expected to support Sir Gabby at the 10.30am launch include Piesie Esther, SP Kofi Sarpong, Oheneba Clement , Francis Amo, Patience Nyarko, Isaac Ampong and Joyce Blessing.
