Until recently, Dancehall’s MzVee was the queen of Lynx Entertainment and all the resources were poured into ensuring that she became successful and that has paid off immensely.
However, now it seems two additions to the Lynx stable, Kidi and Kuami Eugene, are taking her shine as they are commanding all the attention.
We are human and so it would not be out of place for MzVee to be just a little green-eyed at the shift in attention but she says she is unperturbed and is rather ready to rally behind the guys.
“I am not jealous at all. You know per the human nature, it is expected that someone gets jealous when things like this happen but the truth is, I am not all because for me, music is not a race or a competition, it is about passion.
“In fact I am happy for them. The love and support from people has been amazing and I am really proud to have them in my camp. These boys are tirelessly working in the booth to create hit songs, I see their hustle, the urge to succeed and it is not surprising that they are here today,” she said in an interview with Showbiz.
Kidi and Kuami Eugene are all alums of singing reality show, MTN Hitmaker. Kidi won Season 4 of the show while Kuami Eugene participated in MTN Hitmaker Season 5. Their songs like Odo, Angela, Say You Love Me have enjoyed massive airplay on radio and TV.
They have both done songs with MzVee and that is why she is empathic that their emergence will not cause division in the camp.
“People at Lynx don’t work like that. It’s like you saying you have children and you will love two and leave the other, no. Richie is our father and he loves us all and we will all get the attention we deserve. They are fair to all.
“We are a family, we support each other, love and annoy each other, we fool together, fight and still have each other’s backs,” she continued.
She attributes their rise to prominence to patience. “You know the industry is about patience and being at the right place and having the right people around you.
“ The best label any artiste can work with is Lynx Entertainment, Richie and the team have a clear idea of what they want to achieve with whoever they bring into their camp. They work hard and it is evident in the works of my brothers,” she said.
Mzvee thanked her fans for their support through the years.
“I thank all my fans who have been with me. The journey has not been easy but with their love, I have gotten to where I am today.”
Born Vera Hamenoo – Kpeda, she is popular for songs like Borkor Borkor, Harmattan, Natural Girl, Revolution, Dancehall Queen, Re-Vee-Lation, Gimme Dat and My Everything.
