GIJ undergrad Anas Tasia set to soar

Budding singer Anas Tasia has disclosed her readiness to take on the music industry and make a name for herself with her upcoming singles.

Although she would not divulge their names, Anas Tasia also revealed she has secured collaborations with some A-list artistes both in Ghana and Nigeria.

Anas Tasia, real name Anastasia Ohemaa Acheampong made these revelations in an interview with Showbiz recently.

The undergraduate at the Ghana Institute of Journalism who described her brand of music as a fusion of RnB, Soul, Hiplife and Afro Pop, named Efya and Becca as her role models.

Throwing light on how her love for music started, Anas Tasia said she started singing right from childhood and later built on this during her senior high school days at Nsaba Presby Senior High(NSASS).

 “I grew up listening to a wide variety of music and this has definitely influenced the way I sound today. 

“While there isn’t a huge representation of female singers in the country now, the ones we have are giving their male counterparts a run for their money. It is very inspirational, what they are doing, and I hope to find my space in there,” the Miss NSASS 2012/2013 added.
