Atumpan out with Gimme Some More

Ever since Afro pop artiste, Atumpan, returned from the UK in January this year, he has been busy in the studios recording songs and doing collaborations with artistes.

To prove how busy he has been, he released Nyash early this year and later followed it up with Regina.

He is out again with a new single, Gimme Some More, which features Sarkodie. Recorded by Dr. Ray and mastered by Tema-based sound engineer, Mix Masta Garzy, the song forms part of a collection on his upcoming second album.

Rendered in a mid tempo vein, Gimme Some More tells the story of how most men get attracted to the “killer” moves of ladies at the club.

Atumpan is heard describing how he appreciates a lady “shaking her jigidanda” in the introduction. He goes on to rap about how this particular lady swings her waist when dancing.

It is said that practice makes man perfect and Atumpan’s delivery on Gimme Some More reflects his growth in the game over the years.

Sarkodie, no doubt, is a great rapper and has done collaborations with other artistes over the years. However, his penchant for using risqué lyrics seems to have become a norm and it was no different on Gimme Some More. But for his verse which had sexual connotation, Gimme Some More would have been a good piece.

When Showbiz asked Atumpan last Tuesday about his take on Sarkodie’s verse, he defended him saying “Sarkodie is a creative guy and what he did was part of the creativity. I don’t think that he erred at all. We all have our opinions so what I feel good about, may not be the same for others,” he stated.

Atumpan, real name, Frank Elikem Cobbinah burst onto the music scene in 2010 with his hit single, The Thing, which drew a lot of criticisms when he once labeled it as a gospel song. He is also known for the song Sisi Muden.
