This the company is doing by adding to its already established and diverse talent pool.

A release issued in Accra by the company explained the rationale for the company’s move, saying “Global trends suggest that an organisation’s ability to make inroads and achieve a lot of success is reflective of the diversity and strength in its employee pool.”

It added: “Already the telecoms sector is experiencing a host of innovation and changing trends, especially with the world fully set on the path towards digitisation and technological innovation. Currently, the average life span of technology is estimated to be three months and Mobile Network Operators such as Vodafone have their hands full in creating and keeping customers – which is the fundamental task of every business.”

The release said the company had recently made two appointments in its Finance department with the inclusion of Mr Jeremiah Addo-Twum and Michael Sackitey.

Mr Addo-Twum joins as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and brings on board varied experiences in finance across a number of industries, particularly in the telecoms and beverages sectors, while the new Finance Operations Manager, Michael Sackitey, has over 10-years professional experience from Diageo Ghana Limited, where he was the Financial Controller.

It said Vodafone Business Solutions (VBS), the organisation’s enterprise arm, which is currently the market leader in the telecoms industry, had boosted its resolve with the inclusion of Cynthia Amponsah-Antwi as its National Corporate Sales Manager, while Theodore Albright, former Legal Counsel at Opportunity International, has joined the Legal Unit as Legal Counsel Manager.

The release said Vodafone had also made considerable high profile appointments to its vibrant Marketing Department, with the appointment of Gifty Adjei-Fianko, formerly the Territorial Manager for Coca Cola Equatorial Africa, taking up the role of Senior Marketing Manager to steer the integrated marketing activities of the company across the country.

Additionally, Vodafone has named Ebenezer Amankwah as its new Corporate Communications Manager in the External Affairs function to help drive external communication and stakeholder engagement.

Commenting on these appointments, the release quoted Ms Stella Appiah-Nkansah, Human Resources Director at Vodafone Ghana, as saying that, “Our aim is to attract, develop and retain the very best people by offering a motivating and inclusive workplace in which talent is developed and wellbeing is promoted.”

She added: “Over the years, our pride has been in the wonderful people we have and the great things we have achieved working together for the good of the customer.”
