The Managing Director of Tema Development Corporation (TDC),  Mr Joe Abbey, was among 14 members of staff who were presented with long-service awards for their meritorious service at a thanksgiving and awards ceremony in Tema.

The function climaxed activities marking the 50th Anniversary celebration of the TDC on the theme: “Celebrating our Successes and Re-defining the Vision.”

Mr Abbey and seven other award winners have served the corporation for 35 years, while the other award winners have worked for between 15 to 30 years. The awards ranged from three-quarters to a quarter of their monthly salaries.

In a sermon, Very Reverend Thomas Brown-Forson, Superintendent Bishop–elect of St Paul’s Methodist Church, Tema, commended the award winners for their selflessness, dedication, sacrifice and devotion to duty.

He enjoined staff of TDC to be grateful to God for bringing them this far and urged them to re-dedicate themselves to the cause of the corporation in the years ahead.
