Sinapi Aba awards scholarships to 130 schoolchildren
One hundred and thirty brilliant, needy schoolchildren in 40 public and basic schools in the country have been granted scholarship totalling GH¢129,382 by Sinapi Aba, a non-banking financial institution.
The one-year scholarship, which is subject to renewal, takes care of tuition, transportation to school and canteen cost among others.

This award brings to 337, the number of schoolchildren from 160 schools have benefited from a scholarship scheme operated by the financial institution since 2011.
The scholarship scheme is a collaboration between Sinapi Aba and its German partners, Opportunity International Germany.
The presentation ceremony brought together beneficiaries, their parents, proprietors of schools and other well-wishers.
Sinapi Aba has a relationship with 700 schools across the country which it has been supporting in diverse ways.
Corporate social responsibility
Speaking at the presentation ceremony in Kumasi last Tuesday, the Head of Business at Sinapi Aba, Mr Vincent Ampomah, said the scholarship was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to alleviate the plight of needy students in society.
He explained that the package was also to complement government’s effort to promote education in the country.
Mr Ampomah called on all Ghanaians to play their roles in ensuring the development of education.
He said Sinapi Aba was not only interested in providing support to businesses but also to play other roles to improve the standard of living of the people in the country.
Advice to beneficiaries
The Chief Operations Officer at Sinapi Aba, Mr Aaron Opoku-Ahene, appealed to the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously so they would be able to attain their lifetime dreams.
He also appealed to parents to supervise their children at home with their studies.
The proprietress of Jesus King of Glory International School at Breman in Kumasi, Mrs Grace Opoku Gyamerah, on behalf of the recipient schools, lauded Sinapi Aba for the support.
She expressed the hope that the beneficiaries would continue to learn hard in appreciation of the support being offered them.
