Nokia has unveiled its latest smart phones: the Lumia 1520 and 1320 into the Ghanaian market at a ceremony in Accra.
The latest range of the Lumia is a 6-inch smart phone with a 1080p High Definition (HD) screen, designed with enhanced features to allow users access their applications with less scrolling.
The phone also features a 20Megapixels PureView camera with optical image stabilisation, enabling quality photos and videos in the dark and zooming capabilities which can easily capture and edit high quality pictures and tell better stories.
The device, which come in the colours such as Black, Yellow, White and Red are pre-installed with business applications and a unique photography application called the ‘storyteller app’ which allows people to tell stories of places they have visited using pictures.
The new Lumia phones have a 12-month warranty and accredited Nokia agents have been trained to offer after sales service.
Launching the device in Accra, the Senior Manager, Product Marketing, Nokia West and Central Africa, Mr Olumide Balogun, said the introduction of the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 would revolutionalise the smart phone market and boost Nokia’s competitive edge in the “phablet” category.
He said both devices were designed with the latest “Lumia black” software, which is an update of the Windows 8 operating system.
According to him, Nokia would soon announce arrangements it has made with some banks, to offer flexible terms of payments to prospective buyers.
Explaining the business benefits of the new Lumia phones, Mr Balogun said the phones had installed programmes such as Microsoft Word and Power Point which would ensure continuity of work.
Meanwhile, Nokia has kick-started the storyteller competition which would allow people to share inspirational stories on friendship and the winner will have the opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip to London.
