LG Evercool Refrigerator, which keeps food fresh for seven hours after a power outage, has been launched onto the market.
The objective is to avert the situation where many households throw food away, particularly vegetables, because they have gone bad as a result of power outages.
At the launch of the refrigerator at the Coconut Groove Regency Hotel in Accra, the Branch Manager of LG Electronics Africa, Mr C. H. Park, noted that many households in the country had often had to throw away their food from their refrigerators because of power cuts, and indicated that the LG Evercool Refrigerator provided an antidote to that problem.
Optimum cooling
Mr Park explained that because of the LG-patented ‘Power Cut Evercool’ technology, its new range of refrigerators offered a solution to that problem, as the fridges provided optimum cooling for seven hours, even during power cuts.
He said the LG refrigerator also had a unique deodoriser known as the Z-deodoriser, which eliminates bad odour and keeps the refrigerator smelling fresh all the time.
The Vice President of Somotex Ghana Limited, Mr Pranab Mohanty, speaking at the launch, also gave an assurance that households that used the LG Evercool Refrigerators could keep their food fresh and healthy during power outages.
He reiterated that the unique LG-patented technology offered cooling retention up to seven hours in the refrigerator and 10 hours in the LG freezer.
The LG Evercool refrigerator also comes with a low voltage stabiliser (LVS) that prevents the compressor from excessively low voltage or high voltage supply. Owing to this, the refrigerator performs efficiently even in very low voltage conditions.
The refrigerator comes with a 10-year warranty on its compressor.
