This forms part of the authority’s measures to streamline and sanitise the country’s lottery industry.

Speaking at the inaugural Ghana Gaming and Lottery Awards 2024 in Accra, the Board Chairman of the NLA, Gary Nimako Marfo, said; “When I took over I made sure that all the companies which were operating illegally were brought under a licensing regime and today we have licensed 28 companies which hitherto were unlicensed,” he stated.

He said the authority has published the list of all registered companies on its website and urged the public to deal with only authorised operators.

“I expect maximum cooperation from our operators as we embark on this journey. Together with our co-regulators, we will champion reforms to enhance the industry,” he said.

Mr Nimako highlighted the NLA’s role as a regulator and vowed to uphold industry standards.
