The theme for the commemoration was “Mpowering People, SIMpacting Lives”, which focused on the subscribers and emphasised the need for feedback for better improvement.

“This is actually about you, our subscribers; it’s about your subscription to our services and giving us feedback through the years so we can improve and serve you even better; that’s why we have come to you,” the CEO of the Chamber, Mr Kwaku Sakyi-Addo said.

Other CEOs  present, Mr Ebenezer Asante (MTN), Ms Roshi Motman (Tigo) and Ms Yolanda Cuba (Vodafone), joined hands on a platform with Mr Sakyi-Addo. Airtel was represented by a senior executive due to a previously scheduled meeting.

Also present were the CEOs of the ATC, Mr Francois Van Zyl, Mr Jeffrey Schumacher (Hellios), Mr Gareth Townley (Eaton) and Nana Defie Badu, the Public Affairs Director at the National Communication Authority (NCA).

The CEOs wore their respective branded sales vests over the Chamber’s anniversary polo shirts, and later engaged traders and buyers in the market.

They spoke to them on the need to register their SIM cards urgently in accordance with the NCA’s regulations or risk losing their numbers.

They also gave them helpful information about how to secure their mobile wallets, while encouraging more of them to sign up for the service and to be more accepting of towers in their communities since that is what carries their messages.
