17 OMCs failed to pay GHS69 million – GRA’s Commissioner

The Commissioner- General of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Dr Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, has revealed that some 17 Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs,) failed to pay an amount of GHS69 million as petroleum taxes in the year 2019.

He made these revelations when the GRA appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

 He also revealed that GHS30 million has so far been recovered with some GHS35 million in outstanding.

He explained further that the authority is taking steps to have the OMCs pay their debts to the authority while revealing that the GRA does not accept cash in their office anymore as they have begun operating a cashless system since 2021.
