Baj Freight Junior Tennis continues at Tema

The Match Day Two of the 2017 Baj Freight Junior Tennis League is scheduled to come off tomorrow at the GHACEM Tennis Club in Tema. The league, which was launched last month at the Sakumono Tennis Club, saw 50 juvenile tennis stars selected from the Sakumono, Tema and Ashaiman metropolis competing in various categories for the ultimate.

The participants, made up of 36 boys and 14 girls, competed in a round-robin stage in the Under-16, u-14, u-12, u-10 and u-8 events.

At the opening games last month, Joseph Anakpa, Justice Stewall and Emmanuel Aidoo were ajudged winners in the boy’s Under-10 division, while Amos Asante, Michelin Wemegah, Sakina Adams and Nana Achaa Akwaboah won the girls Under-12 categories.

Kenneth Adjokatse and Michael Dosoo topped the boys Under-14 events with Lawrencia Manu and Aku Addo leading the girls division.

For their efforts, all the participants were presented with medals while the exceptional players received souvenirs from sponsors.

According to the organisers, the year-long tournament is aimed at promoting education and health through sports, as well as unearth talents in children around the Sakumono, Tema and Ashaiman areas.
