Volleyball - Army defeats El-Wak Wings to win Geldex tourney
The Ghana Army’s male volleyball team recorded a 3-0 win over El-Wak Wings last Sunday to avenge their defeat in the President’s Cup final two weeks ago.

In a thrilling final of the second Geldex Volleyball tournament at the El-Wak Stadium court last Sunday, the Army side won the first set with a score of 25-14.
In their attempt to bounce back, El-Wak Wings took a 7-3 lead in the second set but got blown away by their opponents through a combination of outside hitters as the Army team turned encounter in their favour to win 25-18.
Eazy victory
It was a one-way traffic as Ghana Army won the third set 25-10 for a comprehensive victory.
It was double delight for Ghana Army as their female team defeated El-Wak Wings 3-0 in the final match
The winning teams received giant trophies, medals and other individual honours
Ghana Air Force men and Ghana Immigration ladies received bronze medals for finishing third in their respective competitions.
The tournament involved the top six male and female best teams in the Greater Accra Regional Volleyball League.
The MD of Geldex, Moshen Debek, commended the participating teams for their performances and pledged his company’s continued support for volleyball through the annual tournament.
The Team Manager of the national volleyball team, Baaba Iddrissu, speaking on behalf of the Ghana Volleyball Association president, George Tettey, stated that the association needed stronger partnership and investment from private bodies such as Geldex, to develop the sport in the country.
