Team Ghana lands in Rio

Ghana’s Olympic team have arrived in Brazil to participate in this year’s Games, dubbed, Rio 2016 Olympic.

Ghana’s contingent is made up of a modest 16 athletes compared to the numbers representing other countries and will compete in track and field, boxing, judo, swimming and weightlifting.

Kaya Forson and Abeiku Jackson will represent Ghana in swimming, Christian Amoah is Ghana’s sole weightlifter, just as judoka, Szandra Szogedi and boxer Abdul Wahid Omar.

The track and field team is made up of Janet Amponsah, Sean Safo-Antwi, Emmanuel Dasor, John Ampomah, Alex Amankwah, Flings Owusu-Agyapong, Gemma Acheampong, Beatrice Gyaman, Szandra Szogedi, Dorcas Gyima, Abeku Gyekye Jackson, Abdul Omar, Kaya Adwoa Forson and Christian Amoah.

 

The athletes are accompanied by 15 officials.
