Tawiah, Constance win Kal Tire Golf Open

William Tawiah and Constance Awuni won the KAL Tire 2015 Open Golf tournament held at the Damang Golf Club last weekend.

Tawiah won the men's group 'A' trophy with a handicap of  2 as he got 77 net to win the day, while Paul Abu, also from Damang, had 79 net to finish second and Rowland Yankey from Ankobra Golf and Country Club, Bogoso, came third with 80 net.

In the men's group 'B' category, Joseph Tawiah came emerged tops with 37 net after beating both Ben Baah and David Brown on count back to the second and third positions.

In the men's group 'C' category, M. Vissey came with 33 net to win the group 'C' trophy; Barry Secord came second with 31 net and E.K.Bonsu came third in the group 'C' courage.

The ladies category saw Constance Awuni winning with 31 net, Paulina Acheampong came second with 29 net and Christiana Secord came third with 26 net.

After the event, Mr Gordon Knox, operations director, said Kal Tire provides Tyre maintenance and support services to the mining sector in Ghana, including 24-hour service for the major mines. 

He thanked the Damang Golf Club for the good work done and all the golfers for their good show on the course.
