It is chaired by Kwaku Sakyi Addo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber, who is also a Black Belt in taekwondo.

The setting up of the council has come out of the realisation that the GTF can no longer rely on the state for its regular needs and, therefore, decided to involve taekwondo practititoners with good standing in society to come on board and support.

Other members of the council include, Walter Blanckson of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and a patron of the GTF, Charles Hanson -Adu, a deputy director at the Ghana Airport Company Limited and a 1991 All African Games gold medalist, Alexander da Rocha, an assistant manager of Nick Tcscan Limited, who was a silver medalist at the 1991 All African Games in Egypt, a former national taekwondo team coach and the only taekwondo Olympian in Ghana, and Derry Dean Dadzie, CEO of a software company, Dream Oval Limited, and a taekwondo Black Belt holder.
