The event is expected to end on Friday and will draw hundreds of professional golfers from across the country to compete, socialise and serve as a prelude to the upcoming professional golf tour dubbed Quest Professional Golf Tour’ 2014.

According to the Quest Sports Management Company Limited, organisers of the event, it was to help to identify the vast potential of Ghanaian professional golfers in the country and to elevate them out of their wilderness.

Organisers believe this would help boost the morale of golfers, especially when the game had been introduced into the 2016 Olympic Games, and help offer them more playing time when no Ghanaian was ranked in the first 50,000 golfers in the world.

They argued that Ghana’s absence in the first 50,000 should not be allowed to persist, especially with the kind of profile and status the game had attained on the international and local scenes, particularly with the high level of talent available in the country.

‘With Ghana’s intention of making it to the Olympics one day, such tournaments are needed for them to improve on their performance in order not to leave them in a deplorable state’.

The Quest was founded by golfers Yaw Assah-Sam, who is the Managing Director; Richard Boateng, Esq. the director of operations; and Mark Coffie head of finance and administration.
