Ohum gala gets underway

As part of activities marking the celebration of this year's Abiriw Ohum (Eba) Festival, Atemantere beat Konkonso, courtesy an own goal to kick off an eight-week soccer gala last Saturday.

The second match last Sunday between Alabiri and Akesere ended in favour of the latter through a lone goal scored by Owusu George.

The eight-week football gala being organised by Makisa Entertainment & Events Management will see six communities within the Abiriw-Akuapem municipality namely: Alabiri, Akesere, Presby Quarters, Konkonso, Adwiremau and Atemantere competing for honours.

Briefing the Daily Graphic, the event manager for Makisa Entertainment, Isaac Siaw Sackey, said the event was to unearth talents for the nation.

He added that the winner of the gala would take home GH¢1,000 cash prize, as well as products from the sponsors, Coca-Cola Bottling Company Limited.

While fans are expected to pay GH¢2 as gate fee, there will be a raffle to reward lucky fans as well as refreshment.

Sponsors of include SCL Technologies, Benak Consult, Hon Dan. Kwaku Botwe and BM filtered water.
