Obodai Sai calls out Bastie Samir

Ghana's middleweight boxer, Obodai Sai, says he is ready to silence Bastie Samir in the ring as he hopes a clash between them in the coming months.

Sai believes it will be an easy fight to win against his undefeated foe but admitted Samir was a tough boxer that could never be underrated.

Samir, alias "The Beast" made name for himself last year when he knocked out undefeated Briamah Kamoko, alias Bukom Banku, in round seven of their non-title bout at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra last October.

Sai on the other hand, failed to take his opportunity against Namibian Walter Kautondokwa when he was knocked out in round five in a WBO title eliminator last June.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, Sai said he was looking forward to coming back stronger from his shock defeat to Kautondokwa, and added that a fight with Samir would be healthy for the sport in the country.

"I am ready to silence Bastie Samir in the ring if a fight can be staged soon. He has been demanding to fight with me for a very long time and I believe the time is now to challenge me” he said.

When asked whether his loss to Kautondokwa had affected his career, the 33-year-old fighter said he was ready to come back stronger from his defeat.

He noted that a win over Samir could propel him to greatness, especially as he was looking forward to relaunching his dwindling career.
