NSA congratulates Isaac Dogboe

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has sent a congratulatory message to Isaac Dogboe for winning his debut bout in the featherweight division by defeating Chris Avalos on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

A statement signed by the Acting Head of Public Relations of NSA, Mr Charles Obeng Amofah said “His display of tenacity and courage has once again brought honour and glory to mother Ghana and as such should be commended for emerging victorious”.

Amofah gave the assurance that the Authority will continue to support the promotion and development of boxing in Ghana.

“We have no doubts in our minds that this victory will spur him on to win more laurels in future. We say “ayekoo” to you and wish you well in all your endeavours”.

The Ghanaian fighter popularly known as the “Royal Storm”, coming off back-to-back losses to Emanuel Navarrete, stopped Chris Avalos with 35 seconds remaining in an eight-round featherweight bout inside the bubble at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Dogboe (21-2, 15 KOs) lost his 122-pound title to Mexican Emanuel Navarrete by a unanimous decision in December 2018. In the rematch, five months later, the Mexican stopped him in the 12th round.
