Admittedly, Courage believed it wasn’t the kind of performance he anticipated after winning all the categories in the month of June.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic yesterday, the naval officer described his performance as splendid,

He said  he started the game poorly, but  gradually picked up the pieces  before catching up with his opponent to finish second.

“In the semi-final, I was down by 2-0 in the best of five games, and in the third set, I was down by 2-8, but I managed to catch up to level it at 2-2.

“At this point, it became a do-or-die affair and after an extended time of dues, I lost it on 18-20 to place third in the Under 2200 Division,” Nenevie recalled.

Despite that Nenevie came second in the High and Low doubles,  and assured his fans of stepping up his training to win this month’s competition.

“I intend to step up my training this time around and hopefully I am very sure I will restore my pride by winning it again,”  he assured.

He said the competition  had been aimed at improving his skills, explaining that playing against some of the best stars in the world had really improved his performance.
