Negotiations to stage Dogboe-Magdaleno in Kumasi underway

Mike Altamura, the promoter of World Boxing Organisation (WBO) interim super bantamweight champion Isaac "The Royal Storm" Dogboe has revealed that he is currently locked in negotiations with Bob Arum's Top Rank to ensure that he faces world champion Jessie Magdaleno at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Dogboe's promoter, Mr Mike Altamura in a post on Facebook said ultimately it will not matter where the two undefeated boxers clash because Dogboe is "gonna turn into a magician and make Jessie Magdaleno's "0" disappear!.

He posted: "We’re still negotiating to bring this history-making fight to Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana. But it doesn’t matter if it’s in Ghana, New York, Las Vegas, or the moon, come fight night Isaac Royal Storm Dogboe is gonna turn into a magician and make Jessie Magdaleno’s “0” disappear!".

Dogboe, 23, became the interim (WBO) interim super bantamweight champion when he sensationally stopped Mexican brawler in front of his over 4,000 Ghanaians at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra. That win made him the mandatory challenger of Mexican American Magdaleno who holds the WBO super bantamweight title.

Dogboe ((19 wins-0losses, 13 KO) shortly after that superb victory challenged Magdaleno, 26, not to "run away" from their battle.

“Jessie Magdelano I’m coming for you baby. I know you are going to run but guess what the lion is here,” Dogb0e said.

However, it appears his handlers are intent on staging the proposed Magdaleno (25 wins, 18 KO's, 0 losses) bout in front a bigger audience at the intimidating 40,528-seater Baba Yara Stadium the most likely venue.
