Kotoko and Aduna are joined on three points on four-team group after one match each.

Last Saturday, Aduana defeated Dreams FC 1-0, courtesy a 38th minute header by Fataw Abdul Rahman.

Yesterday, speedster, Obed Owusu scored Kotoko’s only goal in the 37th minute from a spot kick after the Techiman side had been wasteful and indecisive in the opening minutes of the game.

Former RTU striker, Salifu Cisse who led the attack for Wonders blew away three successive opportunities before the first quarter of the match and lost concentration momentarily when he came face to face with goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.

Kwame Boahene, who tormented Wonders defence from the left wing, was recklessly brought down in the penalty area for a spot kick converted by Owusu.

In spite of Kotoko’s dominance, they lacked the needed bite upfront to finish off move of an attack initiated by veteran Jordan Opoku and Ivorian import Sylla Vie Mohammed in midfield.

The Techiman side grew in confidence at the latter stages of the game, but tackles by Kotoko defender Wahab Adams was enough to scare the neophytes from inching closer to the goal area.

The tournament continues on Wednesday with Kotoko playing against Dreams FC, while Aduana engage Wonders on Thursday.
