Kofi Amoa-Abban: Kotoko Board member gets GHALCA role

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Board member, Kofi Amoa-Abban has been named the Chairman of the Business and Sponsorship Committee of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).

His main duties as a Chairman is to draw up and implement a business plan, explore business opportunities and ensure the successful business integration of the Association.

Amoa-Abban is also expected to use his expertise to secure sponsorship for GHALCA’s competitions through a sponsorship drive.

He was appointed to the Kotoko board last year.

About Kofi Amoa-Abban

Kofi Amoa-Abban is a Ghanaian Oil and Gas entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is best known as the founder and CEO of Rigworld Group, an oil services business with operations across West Africa.

He has led RigWorld International Services Limited from its humble beginnings in 2011 through accelerated growth into a conglomerate that has more than eight subsidiaries.

The subsidiaries include Axiss Shipping, Rigworld international, Transatlantic services limited, Rigworld Training, KOKA Energy, Rigworld solutions, Score Rigworld limited and Rigworld Hydrasun limited.

Amoa-Abban was born in Tema, Ghana, the son of Kofi Amoa-Abban a Director at Textile company TTL, and Letitia Amoa-Abban a retail entrepreneur.

In 2011, Kofi Amoa-Abban started Rigworld from a small office in Osu, Accra providing recruitment services to the burgeoning oil and gas industry in Ghana.

Prior to that, he had served as a drill crew member with Atwood Hunter responsible for the TEAK1, TEAK 2, and Banda Wells.

In July 2015, Kofi Amoa-Abban co-founded PressureTech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rigworld International Services, which offers engineering solutions to Oil and Gas companies in Ghana and beyond.[5]

He was named the Upstream entrepreneur of the Year 2020 at the Ghana Oil & Gas Awards (GOGA) last year.
